Product Description
Schizochytrium, also known as Chaetoceros, is a type of marine fungus belonging to the genus Eumycota, Oomycetes, Saprolegniales, Thraustochytriaceae, and is single-celled and spherical. Schizochytrium cells accumulate a large number of active substances that are useful to the human body, such as oils, pigments, squalene, etc., where oil accounts for more than 70% of the dry weight of cells, and the content of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in total lipids is very high. Achieves 35% to 40%, a similar structure of low levels of fatty acids, easy to separate and purify, and no fish smell. At present, the microalgae culture requires light and CO2, the production process is complicated, and the cost is high. Therefore, Schizochytrium is a microorganism with great potential for industrial production of DHA.
